The first kindergarten-third grade website I researched is www.kellyskindergarten.com. I chose this website because I teach
kindergarten. I am always on the lookout
for more teaching ideas that I can implement into my classroom.
One thing I like about the website is there are many games
for every single subject in kindergarten.
Some of the games are: letters, phonics, addition/subtraction, numbers,
etc. My kindergarteners are really
struggling to identify their numbers so I can take the number ideas for games
and use them in my classroom.
She also posts ideas for how kindergarten teachers can
organize their classrooms. There are
picture, designs and labels that can be printed off for free. She also posts directions for teachers to create their own signs and labels.
The next kindergarten-third grade website I researched is www.mrsterhune.com. This website is all about how to organize a
first grade classroom. Since I also
teach first grade, I am always looking for more ideas. With the combined grades, I have to stay
organized and keep subjects separate.
There are times when I combine both grades and other times I do
not. It just really depends on what I am
teaching.
The
second early childhood website I researched is www.teachpreschool.org.
The author of this website is Deborah J. Stewart. She has a Master of Education in Early
Childhood. She has had many jobs in the
early childhood field including teacher and director. She has trained many of her staff and is very
knowledgeable of the field.
The
website she has made is very up-to-date with how preschool is being taught
today. There are many activities for
children to do so they can learn through play.
Many preschools have a long center time that consists of play.
The art
activities are amazing and she has a lot of creative ideas.
Great website Nicole.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I finally found your blog. It was also my first blog! It took me a while to figure it all out, I'm still not sure I know what I am doing.
Great websites.
